Pamukkale is a thermal spring area near Denizli. These are the famous snow-white terraces with water. Nearby are the ruins of Hierapolis, and the whole complex is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. A ticket to visit the natural attraction and the ancient ruins costs 1500 lira. Tip: approach via the north gates. Leave the car in the paid parking lot and enter from the top. Up there is the very interesting Hierapolis museum and an all-season pool where you can swim. If you enter Pamukkale from the bottom, you will have to walk barefoot along the travertines all the way to the top and then descend back down.
